Dubuque Area Steamatic – Our Story

Dubuque Area Steamatic began in 1976, out of a garage, to serve the Dubuque Tri-State Area. Frank Zahn started from nothing in the carpet cleaning business and built it to the successful point it was in 1993. Due to health issues, he needed help and hired Jim Denman to become the general manager.

Jim expanded the restoration side of the business, marketing insurance companies for fire, water, and mold claims.

In 1997 Mr. Zahn decided to retire and Jim Denman purchased the business from him. Shortly after, he bought the building on 500 Huff St.

The company focused on its employees, offering career benefits and certified training. As the business grew, Dubuque Area Steamatic and the franchise were recognized year after year as an award-winning franchise in the Steamatic system.

Today, Jim and Ginny Denman continue to be active in the business and are proud of the employees and the reputation of Dubuque Area Steamatic.

We are a full-service restoration company, specializing in fire, water, mold, soot, and odor cleanup. Our Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery and Air Duct cleaning is second to none. Dubuque Area Steamatic services a 50-mile radius around the IA IL & WI tri-states area.
